Happy Friday! It’s another gorgeous day at the beach and I’ve got your event line up ready to go! Regardless of the season, there are always events happening around CoVa and I can’t wait to share a few of them with you. But first, I should address the state of our economy as new numbers were just released. Inflation is definitely the dirty word of the day with a high of 8.6%. Having lived through periods of inflation & recession before, things do feel a little familiar. Locally, May was down when compared to last May, but honestly, that was not a huge surprise. The pace of real estate in 2021 and early 2022 was break neck and we all knew it wasn’t going to be long lived. Rates have jumped, making the cost of borrowing $$$ more expensive and rising costs of food and gas are fueling the inflation fires. But, it’s not all bad news. If you are selling, there is less competition. Same goes for buyers, less competition. And big picture, interest rates may  higher but they are still ok. Less folks in the buyer pool usually leads to less expensive purchases. A super low interest rate doesn’t save you much money if you are paying a premium price for a house and likewise,  a higher interest isn’t bad if you are buying a house for a reasonable price. If you are considering buying or selling, it’s time to talk. Together we can see how your individual circumstances may fair in todays market. It’s going to be different for everyone. Alright, enough business talk! Let’s take a look at the events this weekend!

-46th Annual Norfolk Harbor Fest at Town Point Park in Norfolk. Lots of stuff to do here folks! Live music,  boat races, fireworks and fun dining experiences all await you. Please note, Waterside is CLOSED all weekend so plan your trip accordingly. I advise going to the event website and scoping out the parking suggestions.

-Big Bands on the Bay at Ocean View Beach Park in Norfolk. This Sunday from 7-9 you can listen to live swing music while watching the sun go down.

-CoVa Battle of the Burgers at the Museum of Aviation in VB. Who will take the trophy home this year? Find out this Sat, event starts at 12. BTW, be sure to check out the impressive dinosaur park at the entrance. Lots of great photo opportunities!

-Old Beach Farmers Market at the Oceanfront, VB. Check out their website for exact details and get ready to stock up on fruits, veggies, cheeses, meats, plants, honey and more. Vegan and Gluten free options available. During the summer months the farmers market runs every Saturday from 9-12.
