Chicks (Chx or Chics) beach is located alongside the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach. The main road that travels along Chicks Beach is the aptly named Shore Drive. Shore Drive can take you straight to the oceanfront or if traveling the opposite direction, into Ocean View Norfolk. The most noteworthy attraction in this area is definitely the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel that is 17.6 miles long and crosses the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Locals frequent Chicks Beach and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnnel is known for great fishing opportunities. Because the bay is calmer, the beach is typically calmer with smaller waves and shallower water. But don’t let the peace and serenity of the bay fool you, there are plenty of huge fish, turtles and dolphins frolicking in these waters! 

Mostly a locals only type of area, Chicks Beach is more of a laid back, fishing community then the faster moving, high traffic oceanfront. Condos in this area sell fairly quickly and renting them is equally quick. The close proximity to two military bases (JEB Little Creek and JEB Fort Story), the bay and the state park make investments in this part of Virginia Beach a great idea.
